The PCI-7300A is a high speed 16-bit digital input/output interface card based on a 32-bit PCI Bus architecture. Its state-of-the-art high performance design makes this card ideal for ultra-high speed digital input and output applications. |
DESCRIPTION:
The PCI-7300A uses bus mastering Direct Memory access (DMA) to control the 32-bit PCI-bus for its data transfers, resulting in throughput rates of up to 80 MB per second.
Its 64K onboard FIFO together with the bus mastering technique makes the PCI-7300A the fastest digital I/O card on the planet.
PCI BUS MASTERING DMA
PCI-bus greatly extends data throughput up to 132 MB/sec and also has provisions for processor-free direct memory access.
During the bus mastering, the PCI card takes control of the PCI bus, transfers data at high speed, then releases the bus for other peripheral use. It differs from ISA bus in that is does not need to be controlled by the DMA circuitry on the motherboard.
